Nominations for 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced on December 15th 2011. The nominations came as a pleasant surprise to many and celebrities whole heartedly welcomed the recognitions. With six nominations The Artist topped the chart followed by the Descendants and The Help who earned five nods each.
Angelina Jolie’s ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ was nominated in the Best Foreign film category. "I am grateful that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is honoring our film. This was a true collaboration and I am forever indebted to our cast and crew, who experienced their own personal tragedies in the Bosnian War and gave me an authentic perspective into the conflict. This nomination is a tribute to the collective talent and passion of this extraordinary cast." said Jolie.
Matt LeBlanc who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series Comedy or Musical, “Episodes” thanked HFPA for honoring him.
Meryl Streep expressed her feeling by saying that she was thrilled by the selection and looking forward to seeing everyone at the Jaunary party. Meryl Streep was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama, “The Iron Lady”
With the nomination announcement the red carpet is ready to welcome the Hollywood. We are curiously waiting for the new bling blings. What will be the new style this season? Who will be the trend setter? Whose flair will sparkle more and what will be the new fashion statement? Lots of questions are there and the answer is upcoming Golden Globe Awards.
So let’s wait and watch if this time a diamond will sparkle more or the radiance of sapphire will capture the hearts. You can’t predict if ruby or emerald will steal the show!
